She became the first ever female artist to win the prestigious Mercury Music Prize in 2001 and her Tate Modern gig in 2003 was the hottest London ticket of the year. But despite this success, she remains a reclusive figure, maintaining a level of privacy that is virtually unheard-of in modern rock music. In this, the first ever biography, her artistic development is fully traced, from her childhood in the sleepy Dorset village of Corscombe, through her signing to independent label Too Pure back in 1991, right up to her headlining tour of Australia in 2003. The stories behind the albums, videos and tours are all here, alongside details of her collaborations with Nick Cave, Radiohead, Tricky and Queens of the Stone Age, with new and archive interview material with Harvey herself and her associates. The trials and tribulations are all detailed providing a deliciously detailed account of the life and career of one of rock's unlikeliest stateswomen. 1st edition hardback. Book and unclipped dust wrapper in near fine condition. There are no previous owner names or marks. In White Line Fever, Lemmy, the thinking person's Ozzy Osbourne, provides a completely unreconstructed, warts and all account of his excessive life--well, the bits he can, or cares to, recall of it anyway. "That was a great time, the summer of 71", he wistfully muses at one point, "I can't remember it, but I'll never forget it!" Leader of Motorhead for close to 30 years, Lemmy has had more drugs, drinks and girls than hot dinners. His mechanism really has gone--in 1980 his blood was officially diagnosed as toxic to other human beings. This sex, drugs and metal memoir certainly goes all the way up to 11.

First edition hardback in fine condition. There are no previous owner names or inscriptions. The dust wrapper is in near fine condition having only a small 1/2 inch nick at the bottom rear edge but is not clipped and retains the original £17.99 price at the front flap. Tommy Lee is known for any number of things: as the drummer for Motley Crue; as the husband and very public lover of Pamela Anderson; as a convicted felon; as the man who saw a child drown in his pool during a birthday party; and as a celebrity who continues to put his life back together after so many public trials and tribulations. It's been a life like no other - and now he's baring it all in a memoir like no other. Lee takes readers back to his childhood, when his penchant for misbehavior got off to an early start, and brings them through the dizzying highs and abysmal lows of a life shaped by decadence and super-stardom. He shares what really happened during the Motley Crue days, reveals what it's like to film your own honeymoon and freely discusses his days in jail and how they changed his life. Often hilarious, always shameless, this is every bit the shocking memoir you'd expect from a man who's least interesting experience was being married to Heather Locklear. In an age of celebrity exposure, TOMMYLAND is the ultimate dish on the most notorious musical miscreant ever to dominate the headlines.
